Dr. John Gaffey talks about Dupuytren’s contracture and ganglion cysts. Dupuytren’s contracture is an abnormal thickening of the tissue just beneath the skin. This thickening occurs in the palm and can extend into the fingers. Ganglion Cysts are very common lumps within the hand and wrist that occur adjacent to joints or tendons.
About John Gaffey, MD
Dr. John Gaffey is an Iowa native and University of Iowa graduate. Dr. Gaffey joined DMOS Orthopaedic Centers in 2010 and has built a significant practice centered around hand and wrist surgery.
Dr. Gaffey has an interest in and experience treating sports-related injuries. One area of further interest of Dr. Gaffey is the minimally invasive treatment of Dupuytren’s Contracture.
In his free time, Dr. Gaffey enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and boating. He also enjoys traveling on family vacations.
