Dr. Anthony Tedesco discusses the causes, symptoms, and treatments of biceps tendon and labrum injuries including biceps tendinitis, tears or ruptures, and superior labrum anterior to posterior (SLAP) tears. The biceps tendons attach the biceps muscle to the bones in the shoulder and in the elbow. Superior labrum anterior-posterior (SLAP) tear is an injury to the labrum of the shoulder, which is the ring of cartilage that surrounds the socket of the shoulder joint.
